Lagotto Romagnolo - This is a breed of dog I'd never heard about before. He won Crufts Best In Show 2023 last week so thought it was worth sharing 🐕. They are thought to be the ancestor of all water dog breeds. Initially, bread to hunt ducks, the breed is now really good for hunting truffles!
John Oliver dedicated a recent segment of his show to AI. There's no escaping it, talk about AI is everywhere. I'm pretty sick of Twitter threads on "Will AI take our jobs?" etc etc, but I wanted to share this video from John Oliver who does a good job of summing it all up: Artificial Intelligence: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) - YouTube
My last AI post I swear: I just discovered these videos of Biden, Obama, and Trump AIs playing/arguing/discussing video games and it's hilarious. The AI isn't super convincing but it's good enough to be entertaining.
Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal, and Greed - Though a sad and unfortunate story, what I took away from it is the world of positivity Bob Ross created. I wrote down a lot of his quotes in my Commonplace diary. For instance: “The first step to accomplishing anything is to believe you can do it.”
Why Top Gun won the Oscar for sound - An interesting video on sound design. All the more relevant now given Top Gun's recent Oscar. I found out from this that they used elephants to get the sound for the tie fighters in Star Wars!
Stevie Nicks: Oprah's Masterclass - The video isn't the best quality but this was a really interesting watch as someone who loves Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac.
