Hello and welcome back to Design Insight 👋

Let's get started.

📃 3 Articles

The Art of Sustainable Performance: The Zeigarnik Effect

The article in 3 ideas:

  1. The Zeigarnik effect is where uncompleted tasks take up space in your mind. This means it is difficult to stop thinking about things that are unfinished.

  2. To overcome this effect you need to write down the open loops (tasks you need to do) and put them into a trusted system. It is only when you have removed these thoughts from your brain into a system we can depend on that we can free our minds to work on other things.

  3. From a higher level, this effect could be utilized when working towards goals. Make a plan to achieve a goal (following the SMART goals approach for example) and don't stop until your goal has been accomplished.

  3. Try attention training for 10 minutes each day to build up your ability to shift your attention.

  3. If you can’t find images online, take photos of the world around you with your phone and then trace them.
