Hello and welcome back to Design Insight 👋

Let's get started.

📃 3 Articles

Building a Personal Brand to Boost Your UX Career

The article in 3 ideas:

  1. You should build your online brand before you need it to find a new job or new clients.

  2. Focus on one professional platform to start that reaches your target audience.

  3. Try something new to see what it sparks. Try writing or video creation to showcase your design thought process.

Is less innovation actually better in product design?

The article in 3 ideas:

  1. “Design is the science of shaping behavior. If there was no behavior that we were trying to change or influence, there wouldn’t be a need to design.”

  2. Changing a person’s behavior causes friction. Friction makes it harder to take the desired action.

  3. A high switching cost (the time it would take to switch from one tool to another) results in people using a less helpful product. They would rather stay with an OK product than take the time to switch to a perfect product.

The article in 3 ideas:

  1. Try the 5 senses meditation when you want to relax and settle your mind. Notice 5 things you can see, 4 you can feel, 3 you can hear, 2 you can taste, 1 you can smell.

  2. Treat your weekend like a mini-vacation. It helps you be more connected to the present moment and do things you enjoy.

  3. Plan something fun for the end of your weekend to combat Sunday evening anxiety about returning to work.
