📃 Article - Performance Design: The Illusion of Speed

The article in 3 ideas:

  1. A slow website will impact a user's trust in that website. Even a fraction of a second delay is enough to make a user abandon the website and go somewhere else.

  2. There are two types of performance that can be addressed to improve the user experience: measurable + perceived.

  3. Make use of skeleton screens or artificial progress bars to increase the users' trust in a site. Be sure you've done your research though and are implementing the best solution for your site!

It’s our lizard brain in action trying to keep us on the easiest path possible.

Procrastination can be difficult to overcome but the key is to become aware of it and learn how to tackle it depending on what form it takes.

In this article, I’ll share with you what I know about procrastination triggers (the things that cause you to procrastinate) and how to overcome them.
